Acupressure (or G-Jo) is a Chinese technique for the immediate treatment of minor ailments based on the same principles as acupuncture.

Acupressure was developed to provide a fast remedy for various symptoms and ailments. Much like acupuncture, it relies on stimulation of certain points on the surface of the body to release chi, or life energy. Instead of needles, the fingertips are used to apply pressure. Usually, light pressure is exerted for only a few seconds with the tip of the thumb. Most points are located by placing the fingers along easily identifiable body landmarks. Distance between points is measured in finger widths. The technique is easy to learn and requires relatively little exertion.

USES IN ME/CFS: Acupressure can be used for short-term relief of mild to moderate symptoms, such as minor aches and pains, insomnia, anxiety, shortness of breath, nausea, headache, eyestrain, and tension.
