Unlike other sleep aids, Rozerem (Ramelteon) does not bind to GABA receptors. Instead it binds to melatonin receptors. Like melatonin, it is used to treat delayed sleep onset. There are no published studies indicating whether Rozerem is more effective than melatonin.
