Progesterone is a naturally occurring steroid hormone that is involved in the menstrual cycle and pregnancy as well as numerous endocrine functions. As a drug it is used mainly in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopause.

USES IN ME/CFS: Many women with ME/CFS experience early menopause. In some women, menopause causes profoundly uncomfortable symptoms, which can be relieved with HRT.
