TREATMENT DATABASE
Lexapro (excitalopram) is an SSRI antidepressant noted for its high selectivity of serotonin. It is reputed to be a more potent antidepressant than its “parent,” citalopram. Excitalopram has had a history of controversy since its introduction in the 1990s, and has generated a number of lawsuits. Nonetheless, excitalopram is one of the SSRIs that has been used for CFS/ME, though not as widely as other antidepressants.
