This review is not for Dr. Chheda’s medical abilities, but for the business practices of her office. I signed up to see Dr. Chheda on February 1, 2019, with an appointment to see her on October 14, 2019. At the time I signed up, her hourly fee was $800 with a minimum of two visits. This was already at the limit of what I was willing to pay for these visits. On March 13, 2019 I received an email from her office saying that the hourly rate for the first and first followup visit had jumped to $1,000 per hour, effective April 15, 2019. I subsequently canceled my appointments and was refunded the $300 deposit fee.
I am appalled at these business practices and these prices for medical care, which cater only to the very rich, while those of more modest means who are equally sick, are left by the wayside. CFS/ME is a horrible illness, and to feel like being robbed by doctors on top of that, is to feel that the medical establishment has completely failed you.
I’ve been working with Dr. Chheda for a couple of years now. Unlike my other doctors, she continually finds new tests to do and new therapies to try. Dr. Chheda is my only MD who has a plan for my health, and that includes doctors at Stanford and UCSF. She has diagnosed and solved a couple of problems for me. I’m certainly in better shape now than before I began seeing her.
