TREATMENT DATABASE
Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) is a potent stimulant. It works by increasing the concentration of the monoamine neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. It is precribed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adults as well as narcolepsy.
USES IN ME/CFS: Dexedrine is used to increase energy and dispel "brain fog." Because it is a powerful stimulant, it must be used with caution. Side effects include heart palpitations, panic attacks, anxiety, profuse sweating, and urine retention.
